While starring in Aladdin as Jafar, Lance started a new tradition to honor the memory and inspiration of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

He called the tradition a "Brotherhood Buffet," where he asked castmates to bring in a dish from their ethnic, cultural, religious, or geographic heritage to share with everyone, in an effort to breakdown barriers and help the cast and crew to get to know a little more about each other.  

The tradition carried on long after he left DisneyLand and moved to Broadway, where he brought the tradition to Sunset Boulevard and My Fair Lady.
